When antique meets contemporary

In its search for correlations between art and interior decoration, Liaigre invited Galerie Chenel, a specialist in antiquities and the art of the ancient world, to 77 Faubourg Saint Honoré for a pop-up exhibition. Together they selected sculptures from the Roman Empire dating from the period between the first century BC and the third century AD, including a monumental head, busts and fragments of architecture. Arranged in contemporary spaces with contemporary furniture and fabrics, these antiquities create a link between ancient art and actual decorative arts embodied by young photographers Simone Cavadini and Charly Gosp in a « Carte Blanche » given by Liaigre.
